Skies on Friday

I don't see a whole lot of beautiful sunsets from my home. They are nothing like the ones Tootie shares from Sanibel, but once-in-awhile the sky lights up. Apparently, the sky was on fire last week and I was in the house missing it all. I stepped out to catch the tail end.

Then, like tornado chasers but not near as exciting, we jumped the car and tried to follow the setting sun.

It was gone within minutes.

Looking back towards home were the dark blue skies of twilight.

This is a lovely sky!

I bet you sometimes see awesome northern lights from your yard.

Beautiful glow in the sky. Glad you were able to see at least the later stages of that sunset.

Thanks for stopping by. I love the header of your blog. I wish we live in the woods and self sufficient. You got such lovely pictures here. Have a great weekend!

I love the idea of chasing the sun. There sure is a nice rosey glow about this sky. Nice captures.

You still managed to catch some lovely light. I particularly like that first one's pink.

Very nice. How fun to get in the car and chase it.

Beautiful photos! Sunset chasing sounds so much safer and saner than tornado chasing.

The Alaskan Summer green is lovely. I enjoy the pale pink over all the green. The slight pink pastel almost overpowers the turf. Alaska as the last frontier is seen in its beauty here, not overpaved like in our suburbia, rugged yet with a delicate landscape. The last frontier!

Twilight. So serene and beautiful.

Those beautiful pink and red skies just never last long enough - or at least certainly not long enough for me to grab my camera and get some good pictures!

I love how you chased them for a bit, perhaps not as dangerous as tornado chasers but much prettier!

So beautiful! I hope to visit Alaska and experience some sunsets like that in the next few years :)

Sometimes the sky is at its most beautiful just before it fades.
