Moose in the Garden

August 9...

My vegetable gardens. (As I go back through my summer I'm realizing I sure don't take photos like I used to).

August 11....

August 13....

Nick, Olivia and I took a 45-minute drive to the top of Murphy Dome to pick blueberries. They were so thick you could sit in one spot for 20 minutes without moving. We really should have gone several more times, but never got around to it.

You can see the smokey haze behind Nick from the forest fires.

This is a stand of trees that I really like, but we decided to take them down. It's hard to gauge in the the photo, but with those ten or so trees gone we can fill in a fairly small hole and extend our usable property another 75 feet.

The cow and twin calves who have been destroying my flowers and vegetables showed up while we were outside. Of you look at the Impatiens in the lower right you can see where she ate the ends the night before. Those plants were two feet tall.

We chased her away and she just stood on the other side of the road watching and waiting for us to go inside. They want to drink out of the little pond. Our summer has been so dry and hot that the ponds in the area dried up.

We stood back and her she came walking right through the gate that isn't.

We chased her off again and later she snuck back around the other side of the house.

Ran her off again and she just came back in the middle of the night and ate. Next June and July we have to finish the fence before she comes around in August.

Our moose is a duck. Or More accurately...'ducks'. They love our pool. No probs except they crap EVERYWHERE!!!!!
We have a routine where we run out wit long poles and scream at them hitting the water etc.....
They continue to be irritating.
