Here I Am

I can't believe I haven't blogged in so long. Crazy! I do it in my head all day long, but never seem to sit down and post. *sigh*

On the 8th we went down to the Ice Cream Art Social. Students chose artwork to "sell" their parents. Donations fund the are program. Ice cream is sold by the scoop and there are some plants for sale as well.

I've been busy with gardening in what has turned out to be a late Spring. Today, I think, it has finally arrived. My tiller was left out all winter (arrg... I hate when I do stupid things like that). I got out my dremel tool to sand off the rust and put it all back together.

I was a lot of work tilling the greenhouse. I hate standing in the beds. I'm so afraid I am going to fall and really hurt myself.

(Such random stuff, but oh well.....)  I got a gift certificate to Ivory Jack's for Christmas and decided to use it the night before Mother's Day. Homer forgot his glasses so Emily was reading the menu to him. After dinner Elijah came and picked the kids up to go home while my husband and I went to The Howling Dog to do a little dancing. ;)

On Mother's Day Emily worked in the greenhouse with me which is a big deal. She really dislikes gardening, but she did it as a gift to me.

I asked that dinner be hot dogs on the fire pit because I know the reality of things and that is I'll end up cleaning up the mess. Less mess this way! :)

Trouble and mean 95% of the time, but I still love the kid. No one else would deal with him, that's for sure.

Truly my best friend. There's no one I spend more time with or talk to more than my son Nick.

My sweet Lucas and my baby who is an awful lot like his older  brother Elijah. I'm a tad worried about that!

There is not a sweeter more kind person around. Olivia is always thinking of others and is just a joy to be around.

And finally my girl Em. She's really growing up quickly and we've become so much closer (and her so much happier) now that she lives with me full-time. Andrew was here, too, but he just shows up to eat our food. He never says one word to me. I can't even begin to get into how horrible his behavior is and how much it pisses me off to have to deal with it under my own roof, but he's Homer's son so I don't have much of a choice. I can demand he be respectful until I'm blue in the face, but he has zero manners (not our fault... he moved out at 14). Although at 23 I'm about done with it all.

Last Tuesday Olivia's class had a bowling field trip that I helped with. There she is in the back left.

That night was the final Cub Scout Pack Meeting where the boys graduated to the next level. There I am in my uniform!

Last Thursday night Emily announced that she needed a Thing 2 shirt for Dr. Seuss day at school. Of course, she waiting until after all the stores were closed. As luck would have it I had the stuff to make an iron-on transfer with an image from the Internet. We put it on a white t-shirt that we cut out and used fusible webbing to put on a red shirt. We made a Thing 1 shirt for her friend to wear.

Still snowing last Friday. Spring never Sprung and it has been awful.

The first of the Annual Migration of Flamingos arrived at the White House very confused and wondering where the grass is.
Nick and I went and tried a new place for lunch. We both had pulled pork. It was pretty good, but I think $9.50 for the small sandwich and chips was too expensive. I probably won't go back there again. (The hoagie looks bigger in the photo than it really was... consider that is a tiny bag of chips).
Well... that kind of catches you up on life here at The White House. Of course, lots more goes on, but that was a glimpse. Hopefully, I'll do a better job keeping up.

Surely spring will have sprung soon, such late snow, but it does look warmer outside, the thicker winter jackets have gone. Lovely catch up news, you are a real trooper. Keep smiling, remember, when/if/finally if I visit, Fairbanks is the FIRST stop. Greetings to all, Jean.

Let's see if I can remember my thoughts~I love Emily's boots!! How amazing of Mother's Day around the fire pit...

Kids are growing so fast. Scouting brings so many memories. I wonder how many badges and if things are the same as all those years ago. For my kids we did a Christian scouting (Keepers and Contenders of the Faith) so I do not know if things have changed.

Well my thoughts are all over~thanks for sharing a window to your world.
