Another Birthday

Yesterday was my 45th birthday. So many options of things to do and you know what I did? Cleaned off my desk and sat on the computer for 3 hours. I was in my own little world and it was nice. Gosh, I've gotten boring. Anyhow, I discovered unused gift cards hidden in the mess. I researched the amount left on each one, put a sticky note on the back and then put them into these card pages. Into a binder, into the truck and I'm good to go. Would you believe there was $14.28 to Cold Stone Creamery, $25 to go to the movies and 1100 minutes of long distance calling among other things. Woohoo!!

At 1:00 pm we took Elijah to the doctor. He's having trouble swallowing and having chest pains. X-rays showed nothing. He can't take anything for the sinuses because of his skin medication. I wish he felt good. It doesn't slow him down... he trudges along feeling icky.

After the doctor's the boys went to lunch with me at a Mexican restaurant. It was really nice to have their company. Can't remember the last time I had the two of them cornered together.

The rest of the day was spent relaxing. Dishes, floors, everything went untouched. I sat and relaxed...well, except for about an hour when I cleaned one of the spaces upstairs. That made me feel better. One step closer to building my craft room walls.

While I was upstairs Homer baked with the kids. It was sweet having them sing to me.

Here I am. Another year old with more wrinkles and gray hair. Funny... the person looking out is much younger, but when I look back I don't see who I "think" I am.

This morning I'm hitting the ground running. Kind of. These two thought the bacon I was cooking should be for them.
Heading out in the fresh fallen snow...a couple inches at least... to pick up milk. When I get home it's going to be a Jammie's kind of day cleaning another space upstairs. I'm so ready to build some walls. We've been at this for 4 or 5 years now and there is and will always be some kind of event that stops progress. It's time to work through those difficult times because this old lady deserves an finished house. I've had my things in boxes since I left home at 17. It's time to unpack.

Happy Birthday Gayle! Finding all those gift cards was a bonus. Glad you could slow down for awhile, since you never seem to get a chance to relax. Nice of your family to bake that sweet cake too.

Dear Gayle ~ Happy Birthday. I know what you mean about feeling young inside, but seeing ourselves in photos and even in the mirror, lets us know differently. I think you look great, and you have lovely eyes.

Lucas is a cutie pie.

Your cake looked yummy and it was sweet that they baked it and sang to you.

We've also got projects in process. It all takes time, money and motivation, and good health to get things done.

Enjoy each day of your bountiful, full life.

Hugs ~ FlowerLady
