Another Road Trip

On Friday Olivia, Emily and I headed to Anchorage for another football game. Lucas chose to stay with Grandma Debbi. This time through Healy the snow was working its way down the mountain.

There's a couple of very high bridges over gorges along this road and I actually took the time to stop and take a photo. LOL

We stopped at the Park entrance to visit the gift shops. On our way back there was snow on those hills.

On the way down Mt. McKinley was covered with clouds.

I have a photo of the boys in this same culvert from years ago. I just spent entirely too long trying to find it, but can't remember if it was 2004, 2005 or 2006. I'll save that search for a cold day.

We made it to the Anderson's for the night and then drove back out to Eagle River for the game Saturday afternoon.

(He's number 10). I don't have very many photos. I was taking video and Emily took a couple for me.

Stephanie made signs with the girls the night before and Jessi came to the game. Dorene (their mom) drove us all out.
Quite a backdrop for a football field.

That night we went to dinner at Kobe. It's the first time my three have seen food cooked at their table.

We were up quite late as Dorene had to get John's meals cooked and vacuum packed for his moose hunting trip. We slept in and then went to the Golden Corral for buffet lunch before leaving town. (Emily, Stephanie, Olivia, Elijah and Jessi). We had such a great time at Dorene's and none of us wanted to leave.

Driving home Mt. McKinley really stands out on a clear day.

Between Anderson and Nenana the sunset was beautiful.

Crossing the Tanana River Bridge in Nenana.
Back at home there is so much to do that I wish I was still on "vacation". Right now I've got to plan a Tiger Cub meeting... wish I hadn't gotten roped into this.

Your sunset photos are superb. The snow is getting lower each week, and on Google your daily temps are definitely very cold. 4 Celsius. this morning for you. That means winter clothes for me, how about for you?? Cheers from Jean.

Oh Gayle, you got some beautiful photos here, especially the sunset ones. But guess what was the most striking? THREE photos of Elijah smiling. Tell him to do that more often as he has a gorgeous smile.
