Finished a Few More

This is a week that I’m really thankful for the pool. Getting my plants in the ground is so time consuming and I'd feel horrible having bored kids. Good thing they aren’t bored. :)

001

This is the bed by the little pond and holds 35 Dahlia. They were 8-10 inch plants that would have been $6 each at a greenhouse. That’s $210 for one bed!! I’d never be able to do this if I didn’t grow them myself.

002

This bed holds 169 plants. My back was killing me by the time I was done with it. It has Livingstone Daisies, Dwarf Stocks, Imperial Stocks, Snapdragons and Mimulus. There are also 4 perennials in the middle that survived the winter, but I don’t recall the name off-hand.

003

In this bed I planted 46 Purple and Silver Tidal Wave Petunias.

004

This is my first year growing carnations and here are 45 of them.

005

Every afternoon big thunder storms have been rolling through the valley over the hills. Our property manages to sit right on the edge of the storm. We aren’t seeing the big winds, rain and hail that other parts of town do. I’m thankful. I’d rather have to water my gardens then have that hit me.

006

Elijah is in football camp this week. Day one he comes home and tells me he tweaked his neck. Took him to the chiropractor on the way to Tuesday’s camp. He had two ribs popped out. Being Wide Receiver is going to be rough.

007

When I got home from picking him up I found the kids making “homes” out of blankets on the lawn. Emily is awesome engaging in imaginary play with them being so much  younger than her.

We watched “We Bought A Zoo” last night. Have you seen it? I thought it was supposed to be funny and I cried the whole time. What a deep love he had for his wife. Olivia said she’d like to live at a zoo except we wouldn’t have snakes. I agree. :)

I love all of your neat and orderly beds, and before long I'll be seeing pictures of them in full bloom.

Way to go Gayle! Hip, hip, hooray!

YOur flower beds are looking good. The pool is great for keeping the kids entertained.
Nope, haven't seen I bought a Zoo, but maybe I'll watch it soon. The premise sounds entertaining.
