One More Game

I lost multiple flats of seedlings yesterday. Lack of time, lack of water. While they were potentially hundreds of dollars worth of flowers it will be okay. I just may be running short again this year.

On the other hand, my greenhouse is a jungle. I need to weed and tie plants up. It’s going to be a big project to get that straightened out.

Meeting yesterday with the probation officer. He’ll be going on ankle monitoring. Hopefully, he gets it this time. Next stop is jail/group home. I love that kid. Pray for him.

Speaking of that kid, he got to play last night. He got beat to hell behind the plate. The pitcher is a wild one never throwing two strikes in a row. A lot of balls he had to reach across his body to get. At some point he popped/pulled/strained something on the left side. He was in a lot of pain, but played through it.

Our game was at the Goldpanners (minor baseball) field and on AstroTurf. He went for a ball and ended up doing the splits behind the plate straining his groin. Then he got hit in the arm by a bat. That’s a nasty mark. He also had one huge dive into third. Every inch of him must hurt today, but I don’t suspect he’ll get out of bed before 2:00pm. I wouldn’t.

He was getting used up at the plate and had a rough night batting. I think he had three strikes outs before getting a big hit when we needed it to start our 7th inning rally.

It was another nail biter like the night before. We were up  by one going into the bottom of the inning. Scooter (you may remember him from a few years ago on my blog; he and Elijah used to hang out) hit one out of the park to tie it up. We didn’t score in the 8th and then they did. Game over. This was the game to determine which one of us went to State. There are five teams in our division and only the top two go. That is no longer going to be us. We have one more game Friday and then the season is done. Elijah will be glad. He doesn’t like baseball, but he is so good at it. I love watching him play.

Watered the vegetable gardens this morning and now some coffee. Heading out to get the lawn tractor watering the front. Going to try really hard to fit as much work as possible into this day. My back hurts?! We are supposed to be filling the pool on Sunday. The dump truck isn’t even running and I haven’t started to clean the pool. *sigh* Supposed to be 66* today. Feels good out there already. :) I hope the sun is shining on your as well.

Sounds like a rough baseball game. Sorry about all the lost seedlings.

I will light a candle for your child tonight, and another for you and your husband. I'll ask permission/forgiveness later! (I usually ask first)
