Sunday

At 9:00am I couldn’t delay them any longer. Lucas was so excited about his basket he about crawled out of his skin waiting for his brothers to come downstairs.

002

You know your daughter is approaching her teen years when she takes the time to curl her hair before Easter baskets.

004

And curl her sister’s.

005

007

008

What kid doesn’t love Angry Birds?

009

Not so awake yet…

010

011

Olivia loved that her Angry Bird had glasses just like her!

013

015

Olivia is still missing two eggs.

016

We colored eggs after the fact.

And then I put down the camera as there was a ham to cook, potatoes to mash and deviled eggs to assemble (which Emily did all on her own). I wish I would have remembered to take photos of the rest of the day.  Andrew came with Bethany and Kevin with his girlfriend all for dinner. Devon and Jordan came by later. We had a fire and roasted marshmallows. It was a relaxing day.

Then there’s Monday.

Went to high school classes for awhile, signed papers, dealt with a hostile kid, drove to town four times, bought Elijah shoes, Olivia had Girl Scouts, there was baseball practice, homework, animals, bath time.

Today I get the pleasure (insert snarkiest face possible) of having a home inspection by a probation officer, I have a kid who didn’t go to school therefore can’t go to practice, I will spend all day cleaning just so I can be judged by the construction disaster we call home.

I will die still explaining how we are remodeling.

My attitude sucks.

Easter looked like a nice day! I LOVE the snarky face comment. I seriously don't know how you keep from strangling people.

Your attitude is just right, and look at the happy faces with their Easter buckets.Children do grow up, leave home, come back with lots more possessions, leave again, and turn into wonderful adults, and are your best friends. This takes time, hang in there, us Mums are in this for life.Smile sweetly at the inspection man, muffins and coffee go a long way. However at my age I can now look back at those years with a smile. Cheers from Jean.

The White House is a very unique place! Since I started reading your blog you have been triple timing every single day. Wouldn't it be nice to catch some smooth sailing?
You deserve it.

I miss those ages, it makes holidays so much more fun when they believe.
I've never lived in a "finished" house..there is always something being done to it...hell..we are still working on the house we're supposed to be selling (My husband is a hoarder though so we'll probably just use it to store his crap...oops..did I say that outloud/ lol) so I feel your pain. All I want if for the projects to be finished before we start another one. Oh well..maybe in another life. I hope the inspection was as painless as possible for you.

The girls sure look cute with their curled hair for Easter.
The kids made quite a haul with their Easter buckets! (and buckets make a lot more sense than baskets, since they're actually useful.)
