Always a Day Behind….

Waking up the day after Christmas to stuff EVERYWHERE! The house was a disaster (more than our normal disaster)! I set to cleaning the kitchen, ran a load of dishes and cleared the table. And left the rest of the mess to move on to something else. It’s not attention deficient disorder… I call it getting bored with what I’m doing and the need to do something else. Of course, I finish all things I start (ha-ha).

When Nick was younger (when he didn’t finish his dinner, but wanted dessert) he used to tell Homer and myself that “his tummy was full of spaghetti, but it wasn’t full of ice cream”. I guess I was ‘full’ of doing dishes.

Homer helped me pull out a dozen totes, pack up Christmas and put them back. Imagine this with the tree gone and you’ll know how far I got yesterday.

I believe this is going to be Little Miss Sophie. What do you think?

002

Could she be any cuter? Rusty Bucket tolerates her presence, but is not going to play no matter how hard she tries to get him to. Guess he’s a grumpy old man.

003

What did we do besides put Christmas away? Played blocks…

006

and colored cool monster chicks.

Starting off today pretty darned lazy, too. I need to get it together and shift into high gear. Lord knows there isn’t a shortage of things to get done around here!

(Check out my Christmas posts below).

Loved your "Nick" story! How old is Sophie? Gosh, she is cute. I'm itching to put away Christmas stuff too. I'm not one of those people who leaves stuff up for weeks - Christmas is over and I want my house back. Instead I spent the entire day working in my office - rare for me - and now I'm eyeing the tree while reading your post. Unfortunately, I'm not motivated enough yet. LOL!

Just take it easy and do what you feel like doing on any given day. Stress will wear you out and make you ill.

Sophie sounds like a sweet name.

I'm leaving the little tree up until New Years day as I really enjoy the lights. Taking it down won't take long.

My verification word is dereest. So, Dereest Gayle enjoy your last week in 2011, and have a wonderful 2012.
