Lunch With Our Son

Yesterday Elijah’s teachers put on a feast for the students and their parents. Homer and I were more than happy to have lunch with our son. The food was awesome (halibut artichoke dip…wow), but Elijah wouldn’t let me take pictures of it because that’s embarrassing! :) Actually, I was the only one with a camera……  At least he was proud to take a photo with his parents.

After lunch Elijah and I got Lucas and went grocery shopping. That is not fun at –20* and I was so cold I didn’t think about the camera in my pocket!!

At home we set up the train near the fire and that was our evening. No chores, no home improvement projects….just the train with the little ones. (And I had some good conversation with Nick). Maybe I should do something today? Or not.

Rusty was cracking us up. This is him snubbing the pretzel. Every time Homer would bring it close to his nose he’d turn his head. This is the same dog that gets in my trash so there is no logic.

It’s –19* at my house this morning. I’m sure colder in town. I need to go to the store and get all the things I forgot yesterday because I didn’t make a list. Do you live where you can get a fresh turkey? Is it expensive? My frozen turkey was $28 for 14 pounds. (I just don’t remember it costing that much before, but it’s been a few years. We always do ham, last year we had Rupert and this year I am doing both).

That's a great picture of the 3 of you!

I can't believe the little weather thingy you have at the top of your blog says -33. OMG!

Sorry, I can't help you with the price of turkey, we are going to Manhattan again this year to be with our kids.
We have reservations. Yummm.

Apparently our school/6th grade is not doing the feast this year. Either that, or I'm going to find out next week when I'm screaming busy, that I have to prepare something for that as well!! Gotta love it!

LOVE the train!! We had one as a kid. Not sure where it ended up, but suspect my father sold it sometime back. My hubby now has the one he and his bros had as a kid. Fabulous old Lionel train!! We need to start getting it out at the holidays as was always the tradition! My family set ours up to run around the base of the Xmas tree.... However, our tree will be on the patio outside this year as I can't muster the energy to educate 2 new cats this year. Don't need any new vet bills if they decide to eat the artificial thing!! But we are all okay with that!!! We will have plenty of decorations that they can't get to inside to create the holiday mood!!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Love the picture of the 3 of you. At least he let you take that one! Well, I guess you didn't take it actually but he let it be taken anyway. LOL. Your cold weather just doesn't compute in my brain. I don't know how you take it.
