Whew!

Today I blended up some yogurt thinned with milk and made popsicles. Not to creative, but it gets some calcium into some growing kids who don’t drink a lot of milk. Have any “smoothie” popsicle recipes you want to share?

010

I made a big plate of chocolate chip cookies for the kids, too. Funny thing. I don’t even like these cookies, but they sure do!

015

I’ve turned this mess into something we can live with. Good thing is that this stuff either found a home or was gotten rid of.

061

This is the part of the garage that seems to have stayed more garage than anything. The space is 30’ X 30’ and houses my plant room and a bathroom. It will also be the future home of a big kitchen. Can’t wait! :)

012

Ug! This desk. Homer brought it home for the girls and all their creative stuff. It goes from tidy to this in about a day. I wish they’d keep it organized.

013

This is the area to the left of the above photo (bathroom in the back). I still need to empty this craft table and take all the stuff upstairs. The skateboards are for a bench Nick and I are making. There’s also the scaffolding full of building supplies, but that stays. That’s what Homer rolls around on to build the ceiling as it is 11’ feet up (I think).

014

After dinner Homer cleaned the stove pipe. Then we built a fire so Lucas could hold a “party” by it for us all. He’s really getting creative with his make believe. Then we went upstairs to dig through fabric for a Christmas project only to find we don’t have what we need. Put the Littles to bed and now Emily is reading by the fire. For fun. That is a break-through for sure.

Elijah shoveled the stairs and sidewalk for me. So glad he had a good day today. He got a new video game out of the deal, but he would have gotten it anyhow. He’s spoiled. :) He did pay for half of it with a gift card so that’s a bonus.

I have heavy eyes now. Waking up at 5:30 and rolling out of bed at 6:00 (when the bathroom is free) is a new experience for me. I sure am getting a lot more done, but sure get tired by 8:00 and struggle to make 11:00 (I have shows I want to watch…looking forward to having a DVR to tape them and just go to bed at 9 with all the kids).

Hope you all had a great day as I did! :)

Having a productive day always makes us feel good, even if we are tired from our efforts.

I can't even imagine having your below freezing temps. Yikes! Glad Elijah shoveled snow for you and that he had a good day.

Hope today is another good one for all of you.

A DVR changed my life. I am an early bird and love to get up before the kids so I can function normally before the demands start. Today I got up at 5:30 and scrapped book, listened to the radio and drank warm coffee. I shall be a much better Mom for it today and probably more productive. I can watch my recorded shows right after the kids goto bed or even during the day while I fold laundry. GET ONE!!!!!

So glad it was a great day all around!!

I love the smoothies, I bet they were delish! We make a huge blender full cuz the kids slurp them down and they consist of:
yogurt, coconut water, frozen berry medly, a few extra frozen strawberries, a banana and soaked chia seeds.

YUM! Think I'll make some for lunch! <3 :)

You are going to LOVE your DVR! We never use our VCR anymore.

Chocolate chip cookies are my absolute favorite cookie and yours look delicious!

I have a smoothie almost every day. 2 ice cubes, 1 container of any flavor yogurt, a dash of milk, a banana and any other fruit. If you chunk your bananas and freeze them, they make the smoothie really thick and icy, which is how I like them.

Wow! The before and after of that room is amazing!
Love Emily reading by the fire, so great.
And wish I had a few of those cookies right now! They look so good!
