Procrastination At It’s Best

Remember my whole theory that making a list would help me get more done in the day? It did not work. I avoided the list as much as possible.

On the list was this corner of paperwork, video games and cookbooks. I did take care of it.

How did I avoid my list? By spending a good part of my day posting photos from childhood and talking to former classmates/teachers. This would be the 600-word spelling challenge from 6th grade. I was the only one in my class to get them all right and get the silver dollar. And, yes, 30+ years later I’m still hanging on to that bit of success.

Not on the list was dehydrating Cherokee Purples that I grew in the greenhouse, but it had to be done. I’ll use them on homemade pizzas.

001 - Copy

I carried two things off the sidewalk to storage. Not quite the whole list, but something. I also did two loads of laundry. I was listed to do four. Yep. I was a huge failure at “the list” when I didn’t clean the chicken coop either, but you know the saying…there’s always tomorrow.

I sautéed up some onions and peppers.

002

Added it with tomatoes to penne pasta with a garlic alfredo sauce and topped with shredded parmesan and pepperjack sided with garlic bread. Mmmmm…good!!

004

Oh, I also cut up 12 cups of tomatoes yesterday and this morning Olivia and I cut up the peppers and onions. We just canned 116 ounces of salsa. Why the odd phrase in ounces? Because I used my jelly jars which are a pint and a half, and well….all that math gets confusing. LOL  (I guess it comes to 3.625 quarts).

Now on to more procrastinating!!

If that's procrastinating I'm in big trouble! You get more done in a day that I manage in a week.

Even when you procrastinate you still get WAY more done every day than I do!

I am curious about how long you dehydrate your tomatoes and then, do you freeze them or what? I got a dehydrator as a gift but it didn't seem like the wetter stuff ever dried enough to store at room temperature. I would appreciate the voice of your experience!
