Rainy Weather Is No Fun For Me

Good morning, Daisy. I find it very amusing how she slurps up water. Not sure why I think it is so funny, but it is.

I'd like to think they really love me, but they are chickens after all. They just want breakfast.
I woke at 7:30am this morning. The Little People were up at 10:30am, Homer not until 11 and Elijah was much later than that. I tried to keep myself busy outside, but it was sprinkling. I started raking Daisy's pen.

Then the rain started coming down pretty hard and I went back in the house.

Elijah slept downstairs with Olivia...his room was too hot to get comfortable.

I forgot to eat yesterday. Yes, it happens. So I spent all morning starving waiting for the family to get up. Finally, I just made myself a big breakfast not even trying to be quiet. It was good, but would have been more enjoyable with a dining partner.

Today, we sat on the couch and watched two movies. I never ever do stuff like that. It actually was hard to do. Visited some with Nick. Homer fell asleep on the couch at 7pm (he is so over-worked) and Nick went to bed at 7:30pm. Again, it was just me and the Littles. The rain had let up so while they played Legos I finished raking the pen and spread around a bale of straw. I wish Daisy's pen was grass so she didn't get so dirty. I figured the straw will help with that and I can add it to the compost. I should have gotten another bale and covered the whole pen, but the bugs were out so I went back in.

I do not think I have been this unproductive in a very long time. Not sure I like the feeling, but whatever. What's done is done. Hopefully, tomorrow will be sunny and I can get the last of the flowers planted and move on to something else. My life is usually busy or filled with drama. Today, it was ho-hum. Isn't that odd?

Rain saps my energy too and we have had a TON Of rain in Saskatchewan. The south is flooding badly and the river by our house is up 5 feet. I have not checked it today but it could be over the banks. Luckily I'm on a hill :).
