A Little Moon Time

No matter where we are in the world we all look at the same moon.  That is humbling to say the least.

Tonight my Nick made sure his family knew there was an eclipse.  At 12:40 AM Nick, Elijah, Emily and I stood in front of the house talking about how cool it looked and why it was happening.  Then we ran inside because it is -17.5 below.  I took a quick photo that isn't nearly as nice as I know some will take because I refuse to stand outside in the freezing cold to learn how to take photos in the dark. But even with its not-so-great quality it will be a reminder of a moment in time shared with a Mom and three of her precious kids.  That is priceless.

I hope you are having the same priceless moments with those you love so dearly.

That's a great shot! I got one too at 4:10ish est, it's not nearly as cold here, but cold enough! My teen was nestled all snug in her bed, even the dog didn't go out with me!

Gayle ~ We also watched it. Only our temp was around the low 50's, we woke up around 12:45 and headed outside. DH then got out our lawn chairs that have cushions, I got our flannel lined jackets and a couple of blankets. It took about an hour and we happily went back inside and back to bed. It was great to have had that experience.

Love and hugs to you and yours.

Many HUGS to you my friend!!! You are a wonderful mom and you have great kids and a fabulous hubby!! Hang in there. It will all work out in the end!

After all, who else would get up in the middle of the night, in the dark, in the extreme cold, just to hang outside and watch the eclipse with her kids???

I'm out of here today. Heading to my own version of cold and dark. Have a very Happy Christmas!!

Winter solstice-A time of transition in the annual war of light vs darkness, cold vs warmth, abundance vs shortage, life vs death. It has been said that the greatest joy follows deepest sorrow. What is wonderful about the winter solstice is that once we are past that moment of time we can look forward to brighter skies.
I wish this for youu and your family.

How awesome is that!
The moon and time with your kids!

We couldn't see the moon here in Hawaii its been raining for a few days and the clouds covered most of it. Coming back to Alaska for a week next week. That -17.5 will be cold. Wish I could bring you some sunshine from the Aloha state.

Sounds like you've got the Aloha from your kids already though :)
Merry Christmas! The presents don't matter. :) Hugs do. :)

Priceless indeed.

love it! I'm sad we missed it. We had just made a way too long journey to WI and were completely knocked out. I'm glad you and the kids got to watch!!
