Highbush Cranberry Jelly

Today the three youngest and I went out to pick Highbush Cranberries to make jelly.

Emily was more of an explorer than berry picker, but that's good, too.

Even Lucas helped for awhile.

Then he and Emily really had enough and they went back to the house.
Olivia and I kept picking. It was so quiet and peaceful. I loved that time with her.

I have no idea why the funky colors, but I decided not to edit and just leave it.

Olivia and I went back out a second time. We had eight cups of berries and needed two more.

We finished with four pints of jelly. At the local feed store that comes to $73 worth of jelly! Maybe next year I should take the jelly making seriously and sell it for extra income.

Not a lot going on tonight. My niece Jadyn is over spending the night again. Dad and I finished up the evening with a walk and the kids a movie. Now it's off to bed.

How neat to pick your own cranberries and make that wonderful, delicious looking jelly.

I do not like to use an overused word but, WOW!

The woods are absolutely beautiful, the fall colors are there and I have never seen these berries before. I am sure they taste as delicious as they are colorful.

I am glad to see children enjoying nature.

Love the Aspen grove you are picking in. Looking even more fall-ish with their yellowed leaves.

Those cranberries look great. Are they basically the same flavor as the other kind?
