Skies...Stories...Haiku's...It's Friday!!

Take some photos, tell a story and share here!

Look up, enjoy and tell Tisha all about it!

A Mommy Story is running out of steam. Would you like to run Haiku?

If you read my previous post you know that at the last minute I agreed to a 363 mile road trip from Fairbanks to Valdez. I have the hardest time leaving home....I always feel I should be "doing something" around my house. I'm am sooo glad my husband thought otherwise!

After a long day of football, packing, cleaning and work we finally hit the road a little after 5pm. The first 100 miles involved a lot of passing, but at least the sun was shining and the skies were so blue.

Since we had such a late start I couldn't possibly ask my husband to pull over for every little thing along the way. This is a shot of part of the entrance to Ft. Greely taken on the fly. Still lots of wild blue yonder.

A shot of clear skies and a bumpy Alaskan Highway through a bug-filled window.
A little further south we began to see a few wispy clouds and a hill side worth stopping for. I love this neck of the woods so to speak.
The (blurry?) shot of snow capped mountains under clear fall skies.

The lighting and fall colors were just amazing.

It is so hard to get such a late start in such beautiful country. I wanted to stop every five miles or so and I could have taken hundreds of photos. Doesn't it looking inviting? I'd love to go exploring.

This hillside near Black Rapids is unbelievable. Quite the piece of artwork all enhanced by endless blue sky.

Golden sun up high,
Shine your light brightly below
Take my breath away.

Here's Mr. White in the truck while I take photos. In the back you can see the oxygen that we were hauling down to the welders. He makes so many trips through here I was beginning to wonder if he was sleeping while driving!!

If you want to take a road trip through breath-taking wilderness you can do that between Delta and Glennallen. Just a wonderful part of a very long road-trip.
Tomorrow come and see the critters along the way.

Fabulous, just fabulous! I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings, if the critters are half as cute as the landscape is beautiful...

Gayle..do you ever blow these photos up and frame them around your house? We have so many blown up photos we need to get framed and hung. I know I will feel so good when I do it, I just never manage to get around to it. I hope you do...that way when you walk down the hall you can walk into a beautiful mountain stream :)

Love the picture of Rainbow Mountain...at least it looks like that mountain. The valdez drive is also one of my favorites Gayle....so much more so than driving to Anchorage. I don't know why, but I just love that drive to Valdez.
