And the Rain Came Down

I rained all day today...sometimes a sprinkle...sometimes pouring. This was my project - to clean up the trees Homer cut down. I'm here to tell you that green wood is heavy!!

Lots of branches to clean up as well.

I went in and out all day hauling wood, baking cookies, cleaning house and caring for Wee People.

Here's my wood pile for the day.
Much better. I still have all the brush to clean up and then after the last trees are cut I'll rake it all up and toss out some grass seed.

Tonight Elijah asked if I would make sugar cookies to take to his friends at school. How could I resist? The bags have their first initial and a star (E for Elijah, T for Tyler, S for Scooter, M for Miaya, D for David and J for Jared). I also made cookies for the front office with a cream cheese frosting.

Elijah had so many problems last year that we had no choice except to find a new school that was a better fit for his personality. He's now at a private Catholic school (no, we aren't Catholic). It's small and it's just right (and yes, it is way more money than we can afford, but we'll figure it out because my sons' education and happiness are too important to us). Last year he was at a school of about 350 7th and 8th graders. This year the middle school has about 70. (The school has preschool-12th grade all in one building). Everyone is so friendly and we feel really welcomed. Now you know why the front office is gettin' cookies! :)

Good morning ~ Green wood is very heavy, I know. You did a good job of hauling and stacking. You also did wonderful cooking and baking and that's GREAT! May Elijah have a great year in his new school and may your needs be met with each new day.

Have a great week ~ FlowerLady

What the heck do you pump in your veins for all that energy? Mind you if I did not have a 9 month old that still wakes in the night I just might get some sleep and have energy too!

Love the yard, looks great still. I'm waiting on the geese. We live by a River and I can't wait to show you all pics of my noisy friends.

I'm so glad that you found the right fit for Elijah. It sounds like this will be so much better for him.

Oh, and how come he doesn't help haul the green wood? LOL.

A mother's/wife's work in never done and you are a jackie-of-all trades. Your kids and spouse is lucky.

You lady are a saint. I know just how hard it is to lug all that wood around. Sounds like a smaller school just might be the best for your son. Worth the financial sacrifice.
