Thursday Thirteen

I'm going with the "summery/cheerful" Thursday Thirteen badge because I know eventually those days will come.

I'm going to share 13 things on my mind because I didn't know about the "wedding post prompt" until after I was done. I'm always a day late and a dollar short!

1. I miss my husband. He's been away for 14 days. It took me 35 years to meet that wonderful man, and I want to be selfish and spend every waking (and sleeping) moment together. One never really knows how much time we have left on this earth. I don't want to lose time together.

2. I feel my blogging days slipping away. Ack! I love Blogger. It brings me great joy to check in with my friends and see how things are in their world. The reality is my computer is too damn slow, I am home raising five children by myself, summer is coming (really, it is) and I'm so busy. I have so many, many things to do and when I have to sit and WAIT so long for every page to load, I just see my blogging days fading.....

3. Olivia told me that when she stands on her tippy-toes she is 13. Oh, my sweet, beautiful, darling four-year old....soon enough you will be 13. Please, don't stand on your tippy-toes anymore.

4. It's cold. It spit snow at me today. I'm pissed.

5. I found some of our mail in the melting snow bank. I have a stellar post man. Really.

6. Did you know they have $10 wine tastings in Florida? With 70 wines to sample? I'm moving.

7. You don't have to have a large dog to have them poop a lot.

8. I made 10 (not-very-fancy) scrapbook pages today. Last year I wanted to complete one page per day. I failed in a big way. Thought I'd try again. 10/104 I'm already failing.

9. If you are one of those optimistic kind of people that is going to tell me "you have 10 more pages than you started with" don't bother. I'm a pessimist and you don't want to hear my response to your joyful positiveness.

10. Did I mention that it sucks the love of my life is gone? It sucks the love of my life is gone.

11. There are 25 school days left! (insert back flip here). I hate getting up in the morning. I hate dealing with the public school system. In fact, I'm not even sure I really like people much. I would love my kids to be home with me every day, but they are too social for that (read as...our grades suck, but we have a lot of friends). If I had a big do-over I would have home-schooled every one of them (and they would not have been nerds...I'm way to cool for that!). Yipee to no more school!

12. This is a really long list and you must really be a good friend to me if you are still reading it. Truth is I have a lot on my mind and could write 113 things instead of 13!

13. I just connected with my very best childhood friend on Facebook. I'm not even sure I like Facebook, but now she is back in my life so that makes it a good thing. I've known her since I was five, but lost touch when we graduated. I always kept a special spot in my heart for her all these years, and I'm so glad she's back in it. I just wished we wouldn't have missed out on 24 years together.

I'll stop now even though my brain is still full. Thanks for sticking it out! :) What's on your mind?

I have to agree with you on #1....it IS important to share a life, and as you say, you don't know just how long you'll have with each other.

My 13 is posted....all flowers in our yard, done in a collage for you. Drop by if you can find time. Happy Thursday.

#8: 10 pages in a day. Wow! That was a huge plan for last year, no wonder it didn't work out. It would never work for me either. Happy TT!

Bless your heart, I can't even imagine being away from my husband. More less raising five children alone while he's gone. You truly are a strong woman!

I miss my boyfriend. He's a OTR driver and is away a lot. :( We always have a lot on our minds, don't we? Happy Thursday!

Gayle, you do not give yourself enough credit for the things you do get done. Believe me, you are an inspiration.

#5 cracked me up. I think he doubles as my UPS guy.

Have to totally agree with you on #11. I love summer when my kids are home from school. My friends think I'm nuts.

Only 28 school days left here. DD is very excited, but already asking me what she's going to do all summer!! It's hard here because we will rocket up to 100+ degrees, (often breaking 110) for at least 3 months. HOT!! It's a good thing we are able to travel a bit so we can escape to the Mountains or the beach for a while!!

10 pages is 10 pages more than I've gotten done this week!!!

I know what you mean about the slow connection! Arrrgh! What I do these days is click a couple links and then go pick up or do a couple dishes and come back. We'd miss you, so figure something out! Haha! Thanks for visiting my TT!

Ihope the mail lost in the snowbank weren't anything important. Very cool, too, that you reconnected with such an old friend.

I'm happy we're in touch again. I'm a horrible communicator, you always make me feel guilty when I get your Christmas letters full of cards. Each year I vow to sit down and mail you photos and a letter, but I never do. Like I said, I'm horrible at keeping in touch. Glad to have you back in my life, too... and I just realized that I'm just assuming that I'm the old friend you're talking about in this post... LOL

Love ya.
