New Year's Day and Today

My sweet husband was up early and went to change the oil in my truck. While he was away Lucas and I played some games (part of the "Less Work, More Play" motto. :)

Granma Claudia sent this Amazing Garden.....
...so we put it together.

When Daddy got home he worked on writing letters with the Wee People.

He played games, too.

We spent the rest of the day/evening "Doing Away with the Bad" which is motto number two. Man did that feel good. See all those totes behind Elijah in the next photo? We went through them all and cleaned house! :) (That did not violate motto number one because this was refreshing and fun!).
Today, was damn cold. Nick had basketball practice (as always!) and I spent more time "Doing Away with the Bad" upstairs.
Tonight at dinner we saw Goofy Boy playing pool with his brother.

Both were giggling about who was cheating. Hmmmm, I wonder who it was?
Look Grandma, it grew! There was a bit of an earthquake at dinner time that resulted in a landslide for the bushes in the front, but it still looks pretty cool.

Tonight, Hubby and I made a run into town and took a swing by to see our friend, Mr. Fred G. Meyer. As usual, he was exaggerating just a tad about the cold. It really wasn't -62 degrees, it was closer to -45 as read on other thermometers. He has such a flair for the dramatic! It does make for a more interesting story though. I mean, it's not like you see that every day. I do, but you don't.

On the way home we picked up Scooter and Tyler to spend the night with Elijah in keeping with the "have more fun" resolution. Oh, I think this is going to be a great year! :)

Oh, ya, and while I was posting tonight (this morning??) I thought I'd let you take a peek at my thermometer outside my window. Yep. It reads -31 degrees. Doesn't that make you want to crawl back under the covers?!

It sure sounds like you are inspired by the New year. I have not been too motivated around here, and I'm not sure why. I'm hoping reading lots of great blogs full of inspiring thoughts and photos will get my hiney in gear. :)

Thats a LOT of totes! I love how you have them stored though...I really enjoy going through things too...getting things organized and neat. Unfortunatly in 1840 when this house was built..or at least some of it was...they didn't believe in closets..so I'm constantly moving one pile of "necesseties" from one corner to another.
Hey! we have the same thermometer! I have a pic of mine somewhere where the pointer is all the way down at -60. I refused to leave the house that week. :-P
