Thursday Thirteen: The Weekend To-Do List

Thirteen things I am going to do this weekend:

1. Friday my husband and I are going to drive 350 miles to Palmer to watch Nick and Cody play a football game (about 3 hours) then drive 350 miles back home so hubby can work Saturday and I can take Elijah to his football game here in town.

2. I will spend 700 miles knitting and reading and wondering why we didn't just stay home and miss this one game.

3. I will also spend 700 miles hating Cody's new dog because we'll have to take him with us and it will be a pain (10-week old lab puppies are big, clumsy and dumb). Can't leave him home because the little bugger can climb fences. You got it...my hubby built me a wonderful dog yard with a sturdy 4-ft fence and that dog climbs right over it. He is part monkey. If I leave him home in a kennel he'll be covered in crap when we roll in at 2:00am. I don't do poop and I definitely don't do poop at 2am!

Roscoe

4. I will spend hours fighting with Mother Nature to get the leaves out of the pool. I will also filter what ever those little thingys are that are falling off the birch trees messing up the water. If I do not spend way too much time over the next month of Fall constantly cleaning the pool we will end up draining and replacing 30,000 gallons of water. Nope, don't want to do that.
Yep, she's winning alright.

5. I need to clean the dead and dying plants out of the garden in an attempt to keep it looking nice. Two nights ago we had our first frost warning of the Fall. Down to 30 in the low lying areas which isn't me, but it will be frosting here soon enough.

6. I will finish emptying the connex so it can be moved so I can fill it back up again. Half the stuff is already out. If I don't finish it, it won't be moved and everything that is already out will be buried under the snow. Which, incidently, is usually how things go around here. There's a huge tendency to start projects, but never finish them.

7. I will clean the van. I think there is something living in it. Enough said.

Can you see someone watching us from inside?

8. I will get Roscoe some bones. He just climbed the fence, ran to the front door and is trying to eat the entire house. Big puppies are a lot of work!

9. I want to go for a ride in the boat. I haven't even been in the boat yet. In fact, the boat has only been in the water twice, briefly, because the motor wasn't running properly. The water is going to freeze soon. I probably shouldn't procrastinate any longer.

10. I will find a new home for the geese. Or a freezer whichever the case may be. They are beautiful birds, but they hurt the ducks. They killed several of the ducks this past winter and broke one girl's leg this summer (it has since healed and she has a limp to her waddle). I like the ducks more than I like the geese.

11. I will go to Carolyn's and pick-up the two ducks she is giving me. Right. Like I really need two more ducks. I should learn to say no. She's the reason I ended up with the geese in the first place!

12. I will watch the two Net.flix movies that are sitting on top of the television. Waiting.

13. Finally, I will post some (a lot) of photos from the scenic drive, football and whatever else seems interesting.

Happy Thursday Thirteen! Thanks for stopping by.

That is a looooong way to go just for one game. But of such things are memories made. Call it an act of love and get some knitting done.

Cody's dog is beautiful! I tried talking Leo into geese for the freezer but he said no...good thing since he hasnt done anything about cutting wood for the house or moving the wood like he started planning last winter or in building onto the cabin or well anything once he gets home so adding another project that wouldnt get done is not a good idea!!!! no I am not grumpy at all! :)
