Thursday in a Nutshell

For my own entertainment purposes (and yours) I kept a running journal of what I did today in my fog of five hours of sleep...

Get out of bed at 6:30am. (a great achievement in itself).
Make 4 lunches and get 4 kids out the door, on the bus and off to school.
Fill the bird feeder.
Post my Thursday Thirteen (with photos that I had to take and edit first).
Feed Roscoe (who climbed the fence to join me inside).
While drinking one pot of coffee I...
Check my email.
Read my favorite blogs completely procrastinating the start of the day.
Look at four laundry baskets....jeans, WHITE socks to be bleached, towels/blankets and what is left. Wonder why Cody puts black socks in the white socks. Wonder why Nick puts shirts in the towels. Wonder why Elijah puts white socks in the towels. Decide maybe I am a genius and it is too hard of a concept for the Ass-o-lescents.
One load of laundry washed and hanging on the line. Score $8.00 out of the washer.
Clean puppy poop.
Feed puppies.
Play with puppies.
Cut four puppies toenails.
Clean Nick's room.
Feed the fish.
Feed and water the five dogs outside.
Fresh water and food for the goats, sheep, geese, ducks and chickens.
Clean Elijah's room. Score 15 cents off his floor.
Make Emily's bed.
Second load of wash on the line.
Clean Cody's room. Score 12 cents off his floor.
Change a diaper.
Feed the Wee Ones.
Put on Scooby Doo.
Changed Scooby Doo to SpongeBob.
Eat chips and dip ('cause I'm super health conscious).
Vacuum/sweep the three bedrooms that I cleaned. (Left the pile of dirt I swept because "someone" has moved my dustpan).
Third load of wash on the line.
Fold the towels I took off the line last night.
Get Wee Ones juice.
Clean up juice Lucas dumped on the carpet.
Get Lucas more juice.
Gather dirty glasses left in livingroom because no one knows where the sink is.
Look at pile of dirty dishes in kitchen that I've avoided making eye contact with all day. Check time and calculate how much longer I can avoid washing them.
Pick up 2 million toys in the hallway (and that's no exaggeration).
Vacuum hallway.
Pick up 4 million toys in the livingroom (would I lie?).
Vacuum livingroom to the protest of toddlers trying to watch SpongeBob.
Answer phone. Hubby called to see how I was doing. Look at above list. How do you think I'm doing?
Clean puppy poop.
Dress the Wee People.
Look at dishes.
Look at dirty bathroom.
Go outside.
Decide to forgo the weed-whacker and go right to mowing the lawn.
The Wee People are so cute eating pea pods while Mom mows.

The Wee People are not so cute anymore as I have to stop mowing 47 times to find them.
Run out of gas.
Stop to eat a carrot.
Gas mower and finish job.
Sweep the sidewalk.
Send Wee One and Wee Two to the house for throwing toys in the pool.
Fish toys out of the pool and go in the house to pick up the laundry they threw all over the house in the three minutes they were alone.
Turn SpongeBob back on so I can make lunch.
Eat lunch.
I decide to wash the dishes. This isn't a little bit of dishes. This is "the handle broke off the sink and we had no water in the kitchen for two days and used every dish in the house" type of dishes.
I washed half of them.
Lucas let Roscoe out of his cage and he peed on the floor.
Clean up pee.
Emily is home and brought me my newspaper.
Read newspaper and almost fall asleep.
Answer phone. Emily makes plans to go to Zoe's in an hour.
Change diaper.
Wee People have yogurt.
Lay down with Lucas to get him asleep. This took 30 minutes so I got a little nap in, too.
Shower...yea! That felt good.
Elijah comes home on the bus.
Run Emily down to Zoe's.
Feed/water dogs and barnyard again.
Dad gets home (barely) with a truck that won't run.
Off with Elijah to pick up Tyler and go to football practice.
Drop them and go and pick up Nick & Cody from their football practice.
Back home to Hubby cooking dinner! Smells so good.
Read the Wee People a book.
Let's eat!
I get half an hour to watch Olympics and look through other TT blogs before leaving to pick up Elijah and Tyler from football.
Come back home to a fire, marshmellows and football.
There's marshmellow in the corners of her mouth!
Run Lukey Run for the Touchdown!
The photo of the boys is blurry and not that great, but what I noticed when I looked at it was the beautiful hill in the background. It's amazing that I see this stuff every day and don't notice the beauty.
They made me take a zillion photos of them with the footballs on their heads. Not sure why...
Playing catch...or playing pass as they call it.
Send the boys in to pack for their football trip.
Argue with the boys. They don't want to go in right now (it's 9:30pm) because it will only take 2 minutes to pack.
Get Elijah and Emily off to bed.
An hour later they finally find everything and are finished packing. Two minutes?! (They still won't admit maybe I know a little more than they do).
Get the boys off to bed.
Olivia goes to sleep.
Homer goes to bed.
It's just me and Lucas who refuses to go to bed.
He watches movies and I read blogs.
Finally, at 2:00am I can join the rest of the sleeping family!
The end to a 20 hour day on five hours sleep....
