Looking Back

I've been gone from blogging for far too long. A few have been interested in what we've been up to so I'm just going to work through the days past... if you're interested take a look and leave a comment. :)

I got my hanging baskets planted and up in the greenhouse. Just wait until you see them now!

After what seemed like for-ev-ah the snow was finally off the lawn and the grass looked awful.

The  voles destroyed much of it with their tunnels. After thatching those lines became bare dirt. I am so screwed up this summer and haven't even gotten a chance to repair them. In fact, I'm not even done planting my flowers, but more on that later.

So this is it. My front yard 23 days ago. It looks much different today, but still a mess. Very disappointing because as you all know I have a little over 2 months of summer left and then it's all over. One of these years I'll be ahead of the game. LOL

First mistake of the summer. Mulched the zucchini with sawdust. Great except I forgot to put down the newspaper first so the weeds are beginning to grow through it. Plus it was way too fine. I need to scrape it up and redo..... if I ever get that far.

I hope you enjoy catching up and I'm not wasting my time. Time is very valuable these days.

well, I find your post interesting - but even if I didn't or no one else does - I suggest you don't think of it as a waste of time, think of it as a diary, something you can look back on regarding your loved ones and what you did during days gone by.

So glad to hear you are well. I can't wait to see what your gardens look like now. No matter how bad you think they look they look 100 times better than mine and I don't even have a short growing season to blame.

Well it is a very busy time of the year for you. I used to mulch all my vegetable, then after years I realized in my short growing season it slowed the growth as it kept the soil so much cooler. So now I leave it bare and things seem to grow faster. I so hate all the weeding again. Can't wait to see all your flowers blooming.

You are never wasting your time, I have missed your words and photos of family life, days in your week, on-going work, snow, more snow, melting snow, and the garden progress. Longing to see the next instalment of hanging baskets and lots more. Greetings to all at TWH, from Jean. p.s. heaps of snow down south in NZ.!!!

I am in awe. You are superwoman. I honestly don't know HOW you manage to meet all the demands made of you. To one little blogger in Michigan (me)....you are my hero and my inspiration to put the book down and get up off the couch and do that sink full of dishes. Be well.
