I went away for two weeks and it was pretty quiet. (That isn't a pity statement. Just an observation. Maybe blogging has run its course).
I'll just pick up where I left off.....
Friday the 14th took Olivia's class cupcakes for her birthday. Didn't even remember to get a photo. Late afternoon I got Elijah to the doctor because he couldn't lift his arm without major pain.
That's a normal shoulder. Gave him a bunch a steroids and sent him on his way. Something about stressed tendons.
Later that night Elijah was written up for a tobacco violation while at the high school hockey game. Who knows? I wasn't there. He says he wasn't chewing. Another parent and friend was sitting next to him (and who talked to him) said he wasn't. The VP said he was. The Principal wouldn't even talk to the adult witness. It's always something. I cried and cried. He was suspended from basketball. This girl helped me clean house until 1:00am so I wouldn't be alone. She always makes me feel better.
Got up early Sunday the 16th to drive Elijah to basketball practice as the suspension didn't take effect until Monday. It was -30* below. The coach kicked him out because he was late. Apparently he changed the printed schedule and told the boys, but Elijah didn't remember. The coach has been at his IEP meetings. He knows he has a head injury. I've personally met with him and requested that he call, text or email me when there are any scheduling changes because Elijah will not remember. He didn't and my son got into trouble. So not right to be punished for having a head injury. Drove early in the morning in the cold for absolutely nothing. Story of our life.
A couple hours later we had a birthday party for Olivia. Not even sure how I pulled it off. I was exhausted.
We had a basketball shooting tournament. Olivia won.
We had an air hockey tournament. Olivia won.
We playing pin the bone in the hair of the Monster High skull. Olivia got second. (Note someone actually "pinned" to Jadyn's head).
My nieces Michelle and Tisha.
Our Not fancy Monster High cake.
Singing Happy Birthday. (My nephew Jorge in the background).
A very happy girl to have friends over just for her.
Monday the 17th I sent the kids off on the bus and went back to sleep until almost 1:00. Stress does that to me. Pretty much a waste of a day.
Tuesday the 18th I went and watched Olivia's class at lunch. Then I ran and got Emily for her orthodontist appointment that took 1.5 hours. Then I picked up Elijah for a meeting regarding some educational changes for him. Then I gathered our things and we were off to a Cub Scout Swimming/Pizza Party. (My days are exhausting. I'm not 25 anymore).
Well, there's five days. Did you miss me? Tomorrow I'll catch up and then I'll have to think. I love comments, I love sharing my family, I love reading other blogs, but it seems as if maybe things are winding down for many of us.

Dear Gayle ~ I did wonder where you were and hoped and prayed nothing catastrophic had happened. You are always a busy lady and I figured between that and the holidays you just weren't blogging.
I do hope things work out for Elijah.
You have a wonderful helper in Emily. She is growing into a lovely young woman.
Belated birthday greetings to Olivia.
May 2013 be a good year for you all.
Love and hugs ~ FlowerLady Lorraine
P.S. The rose petal jelly is so good. I haven't tried the cranberry yet, but I know it will be delicious too.
Don't quit blogging. I love to read every post even if I don't comment.
Gayle, you are always so busy, no wonder you're exhausted. But I would really miss your blog if you didn't do it any more. :-( Glad Olivia had a nice birthday.
YES,YES, and YES!!! I did miss you and was worried...they say no news is good news, but no blog?? that is different. I cannot understand how some people, teachers, anyone can be so thoughtless and not care, maybe it will all return to them in triple at sometime.Lovely birthday girl, family photos, trips to Dr,Dentist, pools and more. Have you had your Christmas?? Here we had sweltering heat, then yesterday, about 16C, almost cool, and very enjoyable.Keep blogging,I'm sure I am not alone in wanting your news, views and daily anecdotes, we all share, care, worry and mniss you heaps, as the other saying goes. Fond greetings to you Gayle, and all at your home, from Jean
Merry Christmas :)
Your posts about Elijah and his school always make me fume. Just sayin'. Many bloggers are winding down, I blame facebook, but there is nothing like reading about it on a blog with photos.Hope your Christmas was wonderful.
We used to live in Kodiak and now reside in Florida. I love your pictures of winter, spring, summer and fall.
I would miss you! I don't ever comment but you are a total inspiration to me. You get so much done even if you don't think you do. But if blogging isn't fun for you then I totally understand why you would want to stop. It's a lot of work. Happy New Year!
