Dinner for the Winter!!

This is how we roll...

My brother Larry shared half the moose he shot with my family. He had to come into town (200 mile drive) for other business and dropped off the meat. Last night we cut and packaged until 1:00am. My niece is helping and we'll share some meat with her, too. We wrapped steaks, roasts and burgers. There is still a front quarter they'll do tonight because I out of here... again! Headed to Colony High School which is in Wasilla about 320 miles away for another football game. After the game Olivia and I will drive in to Anchorage about 40 miles away to see Dorene who just had knee replacement and came home from the hospital last night. We'll spend half of Saturday with her and then it will be the long drive home for Sunday-work--frantically-in-the-yard day. It's done nothing but rain hard for the last three days and I haven't been able to finish my yard for winter. See you in a few days.....

We helped butcher a deer once after a hunt, and it was a lot of work. I can imagine the moose was plenty to cut and wrap. You'll be eating well this winter!
