This sucks. There is no two ways about it no matter how you look at it or dress for it. It just sucks. Especially when you are out shopping for fish tanks with your 5-year old. It’s just cold.
Tuesday I made homemade pizzas. More than we could eat. Better than not enough.
That dog is odd. A million places to sleep and she wants to be on a shelf.
Tonight we had a party. A dinner party to meet Asa (in green on the end) and for Elijah’s birthday. We had 17 of us and it was awesome. (BTW today we had 4 hours and 12 minutes of daylight. That.is.wrong.).
Olivia had an eye appointment. I know better. It took forever and I was late getting home so dinner wasn’t ready when everyone arrived. Debbi jumped right in and helped me fry the 50+ pieces of chicken (which I never would have done had my sister Penny not taught me how…and taught me the pleasures of gravy!).
Trudy, Cody and Grandpa Hutch.
My big boys.
I love to see kids eating!!!
My beautiful niece, Tisha.
Happy 16th Birthday to you, my dear Elijah!!
(Yes, Alaskans wear shorts at –30 and we eat more ice cream per person than anyone).
Asa is Trudy’s son. Trudy’s is Cody’s girlfriend. They are expecting our first grandchild in April. Asa is two weeks older than Lucas, but technically Lucas is Asa’s uncle. Funny how life works!
Let’s all pile up and be an awesome family!
The younger kids cracked themselves up over this.
Is Justise not the most awesome cousin for letting Olivia put lipstick on her (all over!).
Zoe, Jadyn and Emily…
Lucas and Justise (Olivia on the other couch) all watching Tangled. I wouldn’t know what do without multiple children sleeping in the house. (They boys went to a friends for awhile).
I love my family. I see the not-so-perfect house in the background of all the photos…but you know what? Those kids don’t. They are happy. And that is all that really matters.

Happy Birthday Elijah! I love how he's in shorts - he rocks!
What a birthday party! That chicken looks off the charts!
Looks like all had a great time! I love the meal, the kids, the family the grandbaby news, and the shorts!
A bit cold, but still...thanks for sharing.
And Happy Birthday Elijah, from NEW MEXICO!!!
Jennifer
So much wisdom in those last few sentences. Happy birthday, Elijah and Congratulations, Gayle, what wonderful news.
Must be tough having so few hours of daylight, but the party does look awesome!
