I cannot find my little camera for the quick shots. ??? So irritating. Anyhow, after a little kitchen cleaning Emily and I went to town to run errands while the little ones stayed with their big brother Nick. (It’s a bummer he hasn’t been able to work, but it has been a blessing that they have gotten to spend time with him. They just worship that kid).
First stop was the Post Office to pick up the scooter that Homer got for Elijah. One that hasn’t reached America yet and we had to get it out of Australia.
Then it was off to Sports Authority to look for a new scooter for Emily since one of Elijah’s friends bent hers. They have doubled in price since last summer!
Then we went for lunch at Boston’s. I really try to have one lunch or dinner day with Emily on her week at my house. We take time to eat and shop and just be alone talking about life. She always gets grilled cheese at this restaurant.
I had a Cajun broccoli penne pasta dish. (I always get the same thing, too.) I can fill up on half and take the rest home to my hubby.
Then we picked up her rabbit. A friend found this sweet little bunny in her yard. It is very tame and was there a couple of days. No signs were put up and no one came looking for it so she needed to find it a home as she has allergies. We jumped on it!
Then we back tracked across town to give Elijah his scooter. We put it together on the tailgate of the truck.
Then it was back to the other side of town to go shopping. In true People of Wal-Mart fashion we took the bunny in with us.
Lots of people stopped us and Emily had a lot of fun. And after all that…we forgot to pick up Elijah’s new glasses! Now we’ll have to make another trip.
We also took the bunny shopping at Lowe’s for more clearance plants (my new addiction) and some pvc pipe to make a tent over the outside zucchini that isn’t growing fast enough.
Hello Millie.
Emily and I checked out the cucumbers and decided we needed to pick some.
This is where they were.
The top one was 15.4 ounces and the bottom was 12.85 ounces. :)
While I planted the kids loved on animals.
I added five Giles Van Hees Speedwell to the end of the fence bed. They are supposed to be good to –30 below. I’m not as worried about the cold doing them in as I am about the voles. The perennials that I planted last year they lived on all winter. We’ll have to set some serious traps over the next couple of months.
I also put down 100 feet of soaker hose to see how it works. It would be nice to just hook up the hose and leave it for a couple hours rather than drag a hose and water for an hour.
Then we took the night off and had a fire. Hotdogs and marshmallows.
This is going to be one spoiled bunny.
Emily held her pop can next to the zucchini flower. Isn’t is huge?!
Sun at 10:00PM.
It just doesn’t get any better than this smile. Why would anyone want to take that away?
It is freezing tonight. Or at least it feels like it. Damp out and 48*. Sure wish we had some hot summer nights.

The bunny is adorable. My kids had bunnies when they were small and we loved them! I want to come to your house for hot dogs and marshmallows! Did you know that you can fry zuccnini blossoms and eat them?
Great story in great pictures. It was a real pleasure reading this.
The cucumbers look huge. I bet the rabbit would help you eat them.
