Fun in the Sun

Yesterday I worked hard. HARD. The sun finally came back to Fairbanks and it was about 80*. I shovelled and raked and stacked rocks. Sweating hard I was (and it felt good). I turned this into....

This. Very exciting. Now all that is left is to haul a little loose dirt over and plant some grass. I so want everything DONE and get impatient, but I have to remember that this is only the 4th summer I've worked on the yard. I plan to do a post to show you before and now. It really is amazing. I just want more. (Always).

In the evening I went and checked out the fire. It flamed up again, but the winds were blowing the smoke out of town. Yes!

This morning I worked on Daisy. Ended up using my good sewing scissors (since I don't have shears for sheep) and cut for 5 hours. Yes, five hours! My hand is so sore. Then she got a bath and doesn't she look like a beauty. I was surprised at how chunky she is. I thought it was wool, but nope, it's her belly. She turned 4 in May so I guess it's okay.

Such a beauty!

While I worked the kids played in the pool. It was another hot one today.

My great-nieces were over.

My niece, Tisha, even got out in the raft.

This chicken says hello.

After Tisha left with the girls (they had a softball game), I got into the pool with Lucas, Olivia and Emily for 1.5 hours! It was so fun. Finally got out and raced to Nick's soccer game. Missed his goal, but the team won 3-1.

Prakash took Lucas over to sit with the team. He loved being with the big boys. He even took him to get a drink. He acts like a such a good big brother. Lucas just loves him.

A couple of the baskets are filling out. These seeds I harvested from last year. They are supposed to be white, but some of them have tinges of pink. Not sure you can tell from the photo. Weird cross-pollination I guess? Any ideas Chris?

It was a great couple days. A good cry cleared my soul and a day of hard work afterwards really helped. Today, I had a lot of smiles.

Bless your heart, a good cry and then some hard work does wonders.

I can't believe you've only been working on your gardens for 4 years. You've done a great job.

That pool looks so inviting and I'm sure the kids all enjoy it immensely.

Have a great day today.

I feel like a broken record around here always saying how impressed I am with how much you do in a day. maybe it's because you have longer days. LOL just kidding. You are just awesome.

You did an amazing job cleaning up the yard! And Daisy looks great, too.
Sometimes a good cry is a cure for a lot of ills.

I'm so glad that you had more smiles today. A big, comforting hug from me. I want to come and swim in your pool.
