Skies on Friday

Crisp frosty branches
Ice barely touched by the sun
Quiet winter scene

This time of year the sun in very low in the sky. The rays do not make it over the mountain to reach the ground in my yard.

They just reach the tops of the trees before fading away. I miss my sun.

The skies are crisp and clear today. With the bright blues comes the cold temperatures. It is -16 F here in the hills at my house, but in town it is -28F.

Hi! I just found your blog and thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures. Here in south-central Texas we hardly ever see snow, so thanks for sharing yours! You have a beautiful family!

Well, your sunshine is down here in AZ, though I would love to come see your Alaska skies! Your photos are lovely. I see that you write haiku. Have you checked out the blog, One Single Impression? It is a poetry blog and you can find the link to it on my Kathie's Poet tree blog

We post poetry there once a week on Mr. Linky. Check it out. You would be most welcome!

About the only white I see is sand here in Northwest Florida. These scenes are gorgeous. It looks so peaceful and quiet.

Oh my....you must be cold! Brrr, that's a lot of snow! It is so beautiful and I love the crisp frosty branches in the trees...so gorgeous. We haven't had snow yet and we don't usually get too much, so it's fun when we do. :)

Wow, just beautiful. I have never been to Alaska, but it looks fabulous. Love how the haiku captures it all. Thanks for stopping by and visiting my blog as well. Haiku Fridays are great for meeting new people. :)

Those are some chilly temperatures, but the snow is beautiful. I like how it shines in the trees, but it must be hard not to see the direct sunlight for months....

Your photos are beautiful, but it looks so cold there. I'm not quite ready for that, yet. It will get here soon enough, I know. I would miss the sun, too - just the tips of the trees, huh? Lucky tips, I guess.

My mouth dropped all last year when you reported your temperatures. It still shocks me.

Love snow scenes from your yard. The treetops do look pretty with the sun shining on them. Great photos.

I think the snow is beautiful! Good thing since I live in Ontario. Once the foliage dies back, the snow covers the drabness. :)
