Girl's Day Out

Today was Girl's Day Out. We started out by doing crafts at Michael's. Then we shopped and got a bunch of scrap booking stuff out of the 50 cent bins.
Then it was two new pairs of shoes for Emily.
By the time we got out of the shoe store we were starving. We had lunch at Food Factory. I forgot to take photos, but caught the girls on the way out.

Next stop was Old Navy to find an outfit to go with the new pair of shoes, but no luck.

We found a shirt at Walmart (this isn't it)....
...and got Olivia new frames. I want to say they look far better in person than in the photo. Olivia has been wearing broken glasses. When I tried to get a new pair the prescription had run out. I can't get her in for an full exam with her doctor until the middle of January. I mulled around the idea of taking her to a different doctor, but then I realized maybe we could pop the lens out of the old frames and put them in new frames. These were the only ones that would work, but she tells me they feel so much better.

We went back to Pet Stuff for a Betta fish for Livvy. He's sitting on the kitchen table. Is she happy or what??!!
The last stop was Fred Meyer for Emily's birthday cake (party tomorrow!! :) And what did we find? A hat that matched perfectly with her new shoes. Woohoo!!
We used to have four phones and they have slowly died (or been lost) so we are down to one. I decided to pick up a new phone system today. We got 3 cordless for the living room, our bedroom and Nick's bedroom. (They were out of the two phone system, but when they get it in we'll get phones for Emily and Elijah's rooms, too). We also got a corded phone for the kitchen with big numbers, a big display and audio assist for dad. He has trouble hearing and his eyes are fading so this will be his phone. Lucas ran and answered it the first time it rang. So cute!

Dad is very sick so Nick hung out with Lucas for the day. Elijah was off with his friends. I had a blast with the girls, but I can tell you I will never make it a big shopping day the Saturday after dividends. The traffic, parking lots and stores were insane. When they run out of shopping carts it's an indication you should just turn around and go home. *sigh*

Big day tomorrow: Emily's 10th birthday! My little girl has grown so fast.

Love the hat and shoes. Happy Birthday Emily. It's great that you can hang out with your daughters. I'm looking forward to January when we go to San Diego to visit my daughter. We are hoping to get some quality "girl time" too.

Love the new glasses! Olivia looks so sweet in them! Happy Birthday to Emily! And yes, they grow so fast, my "baby" is turning 13 next Sunday. I am so sad. It goes much too fast.
