Look at the Progress!

It's been far too long. Every day I have posts floating in my head, but never seem to make computer time. I think if my computer wasn't so darn slow I'd be more motivated, but I really hate to waste sun time (which is why I am doing this at 2:12am!!).

Monday Nick had a game that ended in a 3-3 tie. He actually scored on this very kick from quite a ways out.

I watch half of Nick's game and then go to Elijah's game to keep score. He starts every game as catcher and then finishes off at 3rd or outfield. They won this one 10-7.

Tuesday Nick took his drivers test and aced it. Here he is headed off on his first solo trip to town. No, that isn't his car, that is just another one in the yard. (We have eight vehicles including the dump truck and Homer's work truck). Ugly little thing, but it runs. I was a nervous wreck until he came home. I find the whole thing terrifying. (His Mercedes still needs a little tuning before it is ready to hit the road).

Tonight, Nick played this game. It was 2-0 at half-time when I left. They were losing. He said they lost.

I left to keep score at this game. Elijah hit this ball. His team won 20-7. Not very exciting to watch. I'm so glad I keep score and it keeps me busy.

Remember this just about a month and a half ago?

It became this....

...to this

...and now this. I have the 14' x 25' (I think) greenhouse (no beds yet, but they are coming) and eight garden beds of various sizes. (On the left you can see my hanging baskets...they are waiting for hooks on the fence posts). Isn't that quite a change? All the clean up and then all the building. Each summer the construction phase takes so much time, but one of these summers we'll be able to just enjoy it all.

Besides all the games I've been attending there have been a bunch of kids spending the night and a lot of planting going on. It's been a busy week as usual. Tonight, Nick's gone with his friends Zach, James, Pat, Adam and a few others, and Elijah's home alone for a change. He must be wore out! Oh, and I forgot to mention I finally decided to potty train Lucas seeing how he is three now. I hate potty training, but it's gone fairly well. I just put him in a big t-shirt naked underneath for a week and now he uses the toilet. Love it! It's been 80 degrees the last couple of days and that is just perfect for me! I'll see if I can concentrate on taking a few more photos and working a little less! :)
