The Weather Outside is Frightful...

You can see by the sidebar that we are well into our coldest time of year...now through January we will see lots of low temperatures. Ick!

Last night, after so many kids and parties and kids (did I mention kids?), Mr. White and I needed to spend some time alone. The Wee People went to Grandma's House and I thought it would be fun to drive around and take photos of temperature signs. Gee, why stay home in a nice warm house when you can bounce along on square tires braving the elements?

So after a stop at a furniture store to test out every single couch our first stop was the downtown police department.

(6:27pm) Then we went to a bank downtown just three blocks from the police department.

(6:31pm) Then it was over the river to another bank about 3 blocks away from the last one.

(7:15pm) We stopped in the Big I for a bit and then headed towards the North side of town.

(7:18pm) Here's the bank by Wal*Mart only a few blocks from the last stop.

(9:08pm) After dinner at Chili's we stopped by Danby Street on our way to the University.

(9:16pm) Here's UAF. Apparently, it is colder on the North side of town or somebodies signs are off! Of course, we all want to make things seem worse than they are so we seem tougher than we are so we quote the coldest temperature in town!
At the last stop it was -43. I'd like to mention that Mr. Fred G. Meyer likes to exaggerate, and it has been -43 on that sign since noon when I was there to get the cake. I'm pretty sure it wasn't that cold. Check out our fuel prices!

It was a fun night full of a lot of laughs (just what we needed!). We safely made it back home to our balmy -10 degrees on the hill. I'll have to do the same tour six months from now in June!

I feel cold now...

We bought one of those temperature things, where you place one part outside, and the other part inside for Christmas. It says it is -39.1 now.

And in case I ever forget why I don't want to move to Alaska, (as if Allan would ever go back!), I will refer back to this post.

BRRRRR. It's currently 40-some degrees here in Texas and I'm freezin' my bootie off. So much for my Wisconsin roots! ;)

Glad you guys had a grand time, you totally deserved a night out! :)

I got the chills just looking at the signs! How cold is it when you factor in windchill?

I'm going over to Sand Between My Toes now to warm up!
