Sky Watch Friday: Angry Sky

It was Friday Night Football. We made it through the JV game alright, but with :51 left in the 3rd quarter of the Varsity game the lightening began. The sky was so dark. The metal bleachers and the field were emptied. Everyone waited. Finally, the rains began. They can play in rain, but not in lightening. The game was called and it will resume at 11:00am tomorrow. (It was 7-14...them!). I was working in the concession stand so after clean-up I headed home. I stopped at a gas station (Justa Store) along the way and took these sky photos.

The clock says 56 degrees...

Isn't that a scary sky? They even put a lightening/hail warning on the television. They never do stuff like that here.

Dangerous looking clouds. I enjoy the 2nd image - the light in it gives it a different feel- great shots!

Ominous sky, especially that first one... There's that certain kind of dark sky that you just know has bad temper in it. We had hail and driving rain last weekend. These are cool shots. I especially like the first for the pure darkness of it - and the last for the sense of storms passing on. Great series.

Scary indeed! We just had a sky like that here today. It is so rare that I think everyone was a little on edge.
