Thursday Thirteen #5: Things I Wish Husband and I Could Do

#1: I wish we could have a complete conversation without interruptions from the kids or his cellphone.
#2: I wish we could go on a honeymoon to a warm location with a beach.
#3: I wish there was a day where we didn't talk about what we need to get done. (I'm really tired of having to get things done).
#4: I wish we could go canoeing. We don't even have a canoe, but I like to canoe, and I'd like to canoe with my husband.
#5: I wish we could no longer be bothered by THE HEX!
#6: I wish we could sip coffee and read the morning paper together. (That would mean he was retired).
#7: I wish we could go fishing together. Just me. Just him. Just the fish. (That would allow for #1 to happen!).
#8: I wish he could teach me to be a better cook. That can't happen because as soon as he gets home I head out the door to take the kids to soccer, baseball, football, hockey, etc. Cooking together would be fun.
#9: I wish we could take a road trip together. Drive miles and miles across the country with each other for company.
#10: I wish we could sit on our patio playing cards. (That would mean the patio was done and we had time for cards!)
#11: I wish we could travel Europe.
#12: I wish we had a hobby we did together.
#13: I wish we could spend more time together even with interruptions. He just works too much.

Those are lovely things to wish for. Have you shared this list with your hubby?

Patience. All this and more can be yours if you can but wait. Kids grow up and move away. Spouses retire. At least you have something to look forward to. In the meanwhile, maybe a second honeymoon in the woods?

Boy dont I second all of that!!! That is a good idea sharing the list with him...makes me think maybe I will make one up and share it with Leo too. I know he reads my blog and learns things that way... :)

I can certainly relate to #1 and #3...Im very tired of "todo" lists...Once the kids get older and have less to do and become more independent that should open up some time for you...I know..I hate being patient too. You should leave this on his pillow ;-)

After reading your wish list I flashed through all of your posts. Looks like a good life.
