3-on-3 Basketball Day Two

Today began the single elimination process on the way to the Championship Game. Our first game was at 11:30, sort of. They were a bit behind already and we got going at about 11:50am. We won our first game to advance...
Then game two we beat this team...
Game three was a tough one right down to the wire. We pulled it off and went to the Championship! (Patty do you recognize the ref under the basket?)
Our Championship was a tad bit mismatched in size (compare Elijah's biceps to this kid from Barrow!). Our boys played hard and with some skill, but physically just couldn't compete with the older boys. I was very proud of the team...there were 11 teams and we were #2. Pretty darn good for a team thrown together after the deadline!

About weather....I tell people my home is blessed as it rarely rains there. The storms seem to go by us. (Not sure if that is really a blessing or not as I have to water the garden an awful lot!)
So the storm started here and was blowing at me....
then it changed directions and moved around me....
and around....
and around....
and around....
and this is the sky above me.

The storm really blew through the trees and had them swaying at my house and it really cooled off, but the core of the storm passed by. Not one rain drop. I like to say we are blessed, but I think it must have something to do with where we sit on the mountain and the way the wind blows. Whatever it is, I spend a lot of time hose in hand, watering the garden watching the rain go by...

I am currently nursing a duck back to health. She was attacked by the goose who is now protective over a nest of rotten eggs she is sitting on (at least I don't think they are fertile). Tink...just wanted to let you know she's still alive. I put down a dish of oatmeal and she eats it. She can't walk so I'm not sure if she is still weak or if it is a spinal injury. He feet/legs seem fine when she does her wobble, scoot and wing flapping to move around. I'll keep you posted.

Those are some great shot, and it looks like your son has some great moves!

Get well wishes to the duck!

I'm glad to hear that the duck is at least eating. Poor traumatized thing! I hope he continues to improve.
