Last Day of Camp

June 8.... was the final day of Cub Scout Camp. It was also family day in the afternoon so Olivia came with us for the whole day. We started by making walking sticks... they used knives to peel the stick and pounded shapes into the leather.

Then we went for an hour hike on the trails.

After lunch there was a sluice box demonstration.
Then it was game time. There were a dozen or so stations that each group went to for 7 minutes before switching to the next. Good fast-paced fun.

At the end of the day I enjoyed a nice cold Alaskan White and worked in the garden.

Olivia planted some carrot seeds. Late late Spring messed me all up. When we could finally plant I had lots of other conflicting stuff (Scouts, soccer) so now that it is July I still haven't gotten her greenhouse planted and everything is really far behind. Oh well. It's been in the 80's for 3 weeks now so everything can't be perfect!

My first Hot Wax Pepper. Now the plants are a couple feet tall and covered.

Anaheim Chile Pepper.

Even tired I still managed to pull off a dinner on the BBQ.

Camp sure looks like fun, but I'm sure you're glad that's over for awhile. I feel worn out just reading your posts.

Olivia is such a great help to you and always has a smile on her face. I think she's grown some too in the past few months.

Your gardens are always so much work, but they look wonderful when in full bloom.

You cook up some great meals too.

Wow, the snow has only just gone, and look at those plants, my peppers were so late, they got frost bitten before they were ripe!!! You do so much with the garden, glasshouse and family, does a bundle of energy come with all seed packets too?? Cheers, Jean.

You did all of that and then cooked dinner? I may never speak to you again! :-)
