Time Is Flying By

I hate that it has been so long since I've blogged. I would love to blog daily like Lori. Or be witty like anymommy. Or take awesome photos of my babies like Corey. But I don't. I can't. I am so damn busy. Really, if I could be that Professional Mommy Blogger and make butt loads of money I'd do it. In. A. Heartbeat. But I'm not that interesting. And I'm busy.

The plants are growing...and taking so much of my time. In fact, I seem to run out of time and kill a few each day. Won't have as many extras after all!

If I could, I would swing in a hammock in the hot sun all day every day. I know, eventually it would become boring, but I'd sure like to do it until it does.

I love when my hubby takes the time to teach the little ones. Here they are cleaning up oil that dripped from Nick's car. They sure do love to help.

Every year there is a bike race past our house. Ever since we moved here we've sat in the front yard cheering the racers on. This year was no different.

Don't you sit on the couch with chickens in your lap?

I planted two long beds and one square bed with carrots. Then Roscoe ran through them. Don't even want to talk about it.

Always the little helper. Stirred compost and watered it. Man, what a job!

One of my many Mother's Day gifts. (I was spoiled so much!) The watering John Deere tractor. It is so cool. It is going to save me hours each night!

Vermiculture. That would be composting with worms. Don't even know why I am doing it, but I am. Here's the bucket I got and a peek at the inside.

We dumped it out to "harvest the compost" and separate out the worms for a new bin. That pile of black is worm poop. And worms. Hundreds. Amazing how fascinated the children were picking worms out of poop. No. It does not smell. We got 5 gallons of "fertilizer". It will take 8 tablespoons to every gallon of water. It will steep for a day and then water the greenhouse. I'm supposed to get a 70% higher yield. I don't believe it for a minute, but I will try it.

Emily is always willing to lend me a hand. Nick does, too, with a little arguing. The money photo would have been Elijah working, but I forgot to take it. On Mother's Day I got a little bit of help out of each of them. Yea!

Worm digging has been quite entertaining.

A little Dad time.

Tonight Emily made a cake from scratch all by herself. And we ate the whole thing! She was also being a good big sister and played some cards with Olivia and Lucas before they went to bed.

Despite the fact that my husband is thousands of miles away and a couple time zones different we had a pretty decent day. Hoping for an even better tomorrow.

I hope Homer won't be gone long! That can't be easy on any of you. The chicks are getting big. Can't believe you grow so many plants...looks like a commercial greenhouse. Hope you will fit in some hammock time soon.

I have worms (in a bucket in the basement...not the kind you need meds for lol)! The tea works AWESOME! I throw the vermicompost into house plants and they LOVE IT. I'm always amazed at how much they respond to it. Have fun with them :)

Once again, you are amazing!! And yes, picking worms is great fun! Can I borrow some for fishing?? Oh yeah, we won't be taking our boat out this summer. Maybe by fall my hubby will be healed enough for us to go fish again. He's doing great though.

You do keep busy with all of your gardening and with your sweet little helpers. Great pics of the family and your various projects.
