Back in the Saddle

I have been away for so long it's almost as if I've never blogged before! Silly me...I made the comment that "we never get sick", and then I got sick. I've been down for two weeks now, but I'm finally back in the saddle so to speak.

While I was away there was lots of sunshine that Daisy has been soaking up. Once-in-awhile I slipped out to photograph the sun and kids, but most of the time I sat in front of the fire or curled up in bed. I never knew a sinus infection could kick your butt that badly!

The kids have been spending a lot of time outside swinging, sledding and building forts. It has been 30 above and beautiful. I spent a little time out with them, but not much.

The skies were so beautiful.

The weather makes it hard not to jump the gun on Spring. I'd love to shovel the whole garden area, but I know it is only the middle of February and although we haven't had much snow this winter we could still get a lot before it is over with. It would be pointless.

It is so wonderful to have my dear Emily home. Three weeks was too long to go without seeing her. I did get a really nice letter from her grandmother today who was so thankful she was able to visit. That made me feel a lot better about her being gone.

I swear things get dumped on me in heaps when I'm sick. Elijah had his yearly melt down and got behind in school so he had a lot of work to make up. Then Nick fell behind helping me out while I was sick and had work to make up. Then Emily came to my house with piles and piles of work to make up from her vacation which totally sucks. I didn't get to play for three weeks with her, and now I have to do nothing but work with her for three weeks. Completely unfair. Then to top it off in the middle of being sick the teacher calls to remind me that I signed up to bring a snack for Valentine's. Uhhh, I signed up in August....couldn't my reminder come a little sooner than 4:30pm the night before??? I think Feb. 11 was one of the longest most stressful days I've had in the last couple of weeks.

I planted a few seeds that I harvested this summer. I haven't done an official count yet, but it seems like only 30-40% are growing. I'll let you know. This weekend kicks off the official 12-weeks before summer planting. I never did order seeds. They are so expensive so I guess I'll be getting the cheap seeds from Fred Meyer again. These guys are bent over because I forgot to turn on the grow lights in the morning. They are fine now.

After two weeks of being sick and stressed my dear husband got me a new computer for Valentine's Day. What an incredible, thoughtful and loving man. No, you can't have him.

He brought home a desk and I set it up for Emily, Olivia and Lucas. It holds all the school supplies as well. We are now officially a five computer household!

This still cracks me up...trash-talking opponents while playing online video games. So amusing.

Lucas is having a blast having his big sister give him a ride. He could drive the thing himself except the boom truck broke in the yard plus there are a few other vehicles sitting around and I'm afraid of him running into them and getting hurt. We need to take him out riding on an open field.

Lucas is having so much fun and Emily is scolding me for taking her photo. She said it is embarrassing to be seen on the little baby machine. Unfortunately, we don't have one her size. Our other machine is a 550 Polaris and is too much for her to handle.

We've also had a bunch of this. As sick as I've been I went to every single game. I don't miss this boy playing unless I have to. He's so amazing to watch.
I've missed taking photos and sharing our day with my blogger friends. I felt good yesterday and today although my voice is still gone. Hopefully, this means I am all better and will be back at it.

Don't over-do -- if the virus you caught is anything like the ones going around here, it can boomerang on forever. My DIL still has a sore throat from the thing that hit her in early january and her physician says that's normal for this year. Keep taking care of yourself! It's nice to see you back, though.

I'm glad to see you back. I always get worried when the bloggers I follow fall to the bottom of my blog list! I am sorry you were sick, but glad you are feeling better! What an awesome Valentine's Day present! Take care of yourself!
