I'm A Winner. Really.

I'd love to blog that everything is coming up roses, but I would be lying and I don't lie. It is painfully obvious that the people who are hurting my husband so deeply cannot see past their own selfish motives and he is never going to reach a "solution" to this horrific nightmare that will make anyone happy.

So we will move on. He will lean on me. I will love him. Our five children will adore him. He is a good and strong man. He will be okay. The good Lord knows the truth and will heal our hearts.

Enough said.

So as a result of the stress we've been experiencing I haven't found the heart to take photographs. That leaves me to blog with words not pictures and I know you are all to busy for that! :) So now that we've crossed that bridge to moving on, forgetting and healing I'm sure the camera will come back out. For tonight I give you this...

My "30-minutes of work" is kind of, sort of, not really working out. (Shhh, don't tell anyone, but I'm just to damn nice!). So today Nick did split a little bit. Very little. I loaded the sled and the Wee People stacked. Emily would have loaded the sled, but she went to her dad's house for the week (but I know she does her chores over there). Mr. Lazy went to a friends house after school, then to the high school basketball game and then to his own basketball practice. He got home at 9:30, ate and went to bed. So much for his 30 minutes!! We'll get there.

We did have a big family clean fest last night. We have quite a disaster going on upstairs with all the remodelling and moving/building bedrooms. Everyone chipped in for a couple hours and we made so much progress. In a little over 1600 feet we currently have four bedrooms, one working bathroom, one tore up bathroom, a "sitting area" and a laundry room plus a lot of wasted space. We hope to have six bedrooms, two full baths, the sitting spot and the laundry room by the end of winter. Hopefully. (I'll share those photos as we make progress).

Tonight Dad and I watched a French cartoon (kinda weird, but Dad liked it) with Olivia and Lucas. (Nick drove his brother around for me. Yea!). I finished up this hat while "watching" the movie. Where will I find heads for these?

My last story....have you ever won anything on a blog? I honestly thought it was all crap. I mean, how would I ever know if something was really given away. Well, guess what? They really do give stuff away. Have you heard of Vodkamom? If you haven't you live in a box. Really. She tells the most humorous stories from her teaching and child raising experiences. I mean, she has like 1200 and some followers so you know she is funny. Anyhow, I made a comment and she randomly chose me....yes, me...to receive a $30 Walmart gift card. Two days after getting the email it was in my mailbox. If my lips could reach that far I would kiss her. Honestly, who couldn't use a little extra. We do fine, I pretend a lot, you get to see what I want you to see, but the reality is we are still paying for those Minnesota and California hockey trips (plus being robbed blind in other ways) so this is WAY TOO COOL!! I will never be a doubter again.

Now go visit her...you know...Vodkamom. You'll pee your pants. Really. I don't lie. And that's the truth.

Congratulations on your win!

Your posts always inspire me. You give and give so that your family will have. I am so sorry that your DH is going through a rough time. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. I love the new pictures of your family in the sidebar.

Looking forward to seeing your remodeling work. It all sounds like quite the project.

Have a lovely day today in your part of the world.

I love the family clean fests...We used to do a 15 min. speed clean at the other house...we really need to start implementing it here as well...before we all get buried under the clutter...ugh.
It sounds like things are moving along with the house projects...I know how hard it is...I'm still sleeping in the living room lol. I DID get a gift card from Home Depot though as a christmas gift that should buy the windows and even some of the dry wall...wooo...I may get a bed room yet!! :-P

I hope the "powers that be" will intercede and the nasty Karma that's going around will back off your DH. He seems like such a good husband & father, and just a good, kind person in general. Some people just don't get that what they dish out will eventually come back at them ten fold!! Here's wishing a speedy retreat!!

I love the new pictures of the kids on the sidebar!

I can't believe you think you knit slowly - you whip those hats up like nobody's business!

It's a new year, new attitude! I hope 2010 brings you lots of good things and peace of heart.

Congrats on winning. I visited Vodkamom, and she is a funny lady.
Sorry about the stress. Hope it gets better soon.
Good luck with the 30 minutes of work. We made the kids do certain weekly jobs before they could leave the house on Saturday. That worked out pretty well, since there was a strong incentive to get going with whatever their weekend activities happened to be.
