Busy Day!

I started out the day with the intention of taking lots of photos. I failed part way through the afternoon!

Good morning, Roscoe. Still needs that last bit of winter coat brushed out of him.

Time for the little ones to eat, too.

Nick's chore (aka torture) was to wash some of the pool rocks. He also finished carrying stuff out to the greenhouse.

Elijah (suffered) helped out by scooping poop out of the dog pen.

I planted ten or so hanging baskets today plus cleaned out all the plant pots that didn't survive. Consolidated the greenhouse and started planting more nasturtium seeds since only half the last ones survived. I'll plant a bunch more and then also try just putting seeds in the beds outside when the time comes.

Hello chickies! Lost a few more...the ones I expected to lose. I could tell the minute I took them out of the box which ones weren't going to make it. I think I'm down to 41, but not positive. I have two more that are borderline although they looked good when I left them for the night.

Nick pre-barber. His hair grows "uber fast" (as he would say) and curls a bit. He decided to (almost) shave it off to be cooler this summer. You'll have to tune in tomorrow for a look-see as I forgot to get a shot of post-barber before he went off to bed.

After the haircut we (Nick, Emily and myself) went to lunch at Food Factory. We were going to go up on the deck, but apparently it didn't open until 5pm. Wish we would have gone somewhere else instead.

Elijah spent six hours biking around town with his friends, Nick had three hours of football camp and Emily went to a bowling birthday party and sleepover. Dad flew down to Valdez (and back) in the company plane today. Tonight he and I cleaned up around the greenhouse. I think he'll finish up the vegetable beds tomorrow. I have to finish cleaning the pool...he'll be hauling the water Sunday and Monday! Yipee! I look forward to the day when we can just sit and enjoy our home rather than work so much! Oh, did I mention I love this weather! I'm really enjoying the heat and sunshine.

Your little dogs seem to be very civilised about sharing a food bowl. Ours have to be done separately or the skinnies would be skinnier and those with weight issues, Hebe in particular, would be resemble a barrel!

You are amazing!! The things you get done in a single day would take me weeks! And I only have ONE little helper!! I so need some of your energy!!

Your chicks are adorable! Again, I wish I could have some. I think I actually can, according to our city laws, etc. But I'm not so sure about my neighbors..... Don't want to rock the boat. Though I'm thinking chickens would be preferable to the 4 dogs barking next door!!
