For the Love of Snow!

Now that we have this great family room and kitchen downstairs everything happens there. We go upstairs to sleep. That's it. With the kids being on vacation we haven't even been doing that...we just stay downstairs and have a slumber party with the babies.

Today, it was +20 and the Wee People were itching to get outside so I figured that would be a good time to do all the shovelling we've been neglecting. The kids will be home soon and we'll have to back upstairs. *sigh*

Geez, when was the last time we shovelled?

Yes, being the great mom that I am, I stopped and took a photo of my child in distress before swooping in and rescuing him. Lost that boot and all!

Look at those stairs now! Woohoo! My dear husband will tell me I shouldn't have and that he would have done it, but he works so hard for our family. It is the least I could do to show my appreciation for the great life he is providing us with.

There are a lot of interruptions when shovelling with children.

Lucas was yelling "Faster! Faster!".

Then he came back to help me. It is so hard packed. We had that big melt awhile ago and the sidewalk became a thick layer of ice. We let the snow pack on it so it wouldn't be slippery. I really had to work hard with the ice scraper to get it up.

Almost done! Had to abandoned my work since a couple little tummies were rumbling.
