Rewind to Thursday

Rewinding back to Thursday...I was looking for a pair of fuzzy socks. This is what I found. Why does this happen? Where do they really go?

This is what I settled on....

The Wee People watching Sponge Bob on the Nintendo DS. Wondering about the wall? Behind that wall is Nicholas' bedroom. It is the one remodeling job we did right away when we moved in. The inside of the room was finished, but the outside was not. The kids started to draw on it. Then their friends would sign the wall when they visited. Now they don't want us to paint it! Eventually I will, but for now it holds a lot of memories of birthday parties and fun times.

How does this happen to my laundry room?

I fixed it...Can't wait to remodel this too. The walls and floors need ripped out and updated. This is at the bottom of the list because even though it is ugly it is functional.

After cleaning the laundry room I moved on to the kitchen (decided against sharing those photos!) and even found time for a little Christmas cheer. This is how dark it is at 4:20 in the afternoon!

Friday was spent on the phone/computer fixing my anti-virus problem. Really...I must have spent six hours Friday working on computer problems. Not something I have time for.

Friday night Dave came over with some smoked salmon. Mr. White sealed it up, and Dave gave us half.

Here are two packages of smoked Copper River King Salmon...one spicy, one not. I saw an ad in today's paper for Copper Kings (the best salmon there is) for $15.00 per pound. The smoked salmon spread was $30.00 for three 4 oz jars!! Dave gave us 5 1/2 pounds for packaging them up for him. Wow!

Then Friday night I was up until 2:00am finishing the wrestling program. Back up at 7:00am making taco meet and a photo collage. I dropped the Wee People at Debbi's and was down to the meet by 9:00am. Mr. White had already taken Cody at 7:30am and Nick went with him to work. Then Nick went to North Pole for a 9:00am soccer game. After dropping my things to the meet, I picked up Elijah and his friend Tyler and took them to basketball assessments for Interior Youth Basketball that will start in January. Then it was back to the meet until 1:00pm. I got to watch this match....
At noon Nick had basketball practice (he made the high school team). I picked the Wee People up at 1:00. Went home for a little bit then dropped Elijah and Tyler to a birthday party on my way to pick Nick up at 3:00. Then back home to put the Wee People (and myself) down for a nap. I don't think much more was accomplished other than movie watching!

This morning it was off to Lowe's for 2x4's...

and sheet rock.

We took the cabinets apart for me to stain...

this is before...

Cody helping Dad...2x4's have to be screwed to the beams, and then the sheet rock will be screwed to them.

The cabinets all finished. (We still need to get the upper cabinets, but that is another $800 so it will wait until after Christmas). We are hating the counter top now. It just isn't working with the walls and cabinets. We are still undecided...we may either not worry about it and save the money or change it out so it doesn't drive us crazy.

We finished off the evening by putting kids to bed and watching the rest of the movie we started the night before.

The temperature is -5 here at the house and -19 in town. So much for the +20 we had. I guess I really should have put up my Christmas lights. Maybe next year.

On a sad note, Billy the goat passed away tonight. It appears from her positioning she suffered heart failure or something of the sort. It appeared to be a very sudden death. Billy had been a part of our family for about 1.5 years and we were told she was three when she came to us. Although I never blogged of it, Bob also passed this fall. We also had him 1.5 years and we were told he was two when we got him. I'm not really sure why after such a long success with us they died sudden deaths, but I am thankful there was not a lot of suffering. Now I worry about poor Daisy outside alone. It will be a long winter for her until we can get her a companion this Spring.

Gayle...sorry to hear about the goat.

I wondered what you were doing up there! It has been an amazing butt busting time for your family and I am very impressed with all the work you are doing. Looks to me like there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Great job....all of you!!!

Love the hand writing on the wall!

All your projects are looking great and appear to be coming together nicely.

Nice 'pick' on the socks, it would be mine too!

Sorry about Billy. Daisy will be lonely until Spring.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I've been reading your blog for a while now and am amazed at how much you do every time I read.

I think TLC needs to follow your family around instead of John and Kate Plus 8!
