Ester Park is by far the best little park in town. The Ester Community really does a nice job of keeping it clean and providing lots of entertainment. On warmer days the park is full of activity. (View from the road) In the summer this area is for basketball, skateboarding and biking (there are a ton of balls and toys left at the park for anyone to use...and they don't get stolen!). In the winter, the fire department floods the area and makes a skating rink. Behind that there is a football-sized grassy area for, well, football. Also, soccer, softball, Frisbee or playing catch with your dog...you name it, it gets done. The locals even play weekend winter football! From the parking lot you can see the ice rink and behind that the Ester Volunteer Fire Department. Inside they have skates to loan out.The playground and outhouses (yes, outhouses...no indoor plumbing here!)Every 4th of July we go down to the "big" Ester celebration. For the last three years we have been the last to leave the park around 10pm. Last year it was a rousing game of volleyball with the neighbors that kept us late!
I am so thankful for this park nestled in a little corner in the hills!

I love it when communities acutally make an effort...a little goes a long way in keeping the kids entertained and out of trouble :-) It sounds like an awesome place to live, I wish our town would do things like this.
