Another Tackle Just For Cody

This is what was originally the dining room when we bought the house. Since we took half of the living room (to the right of where I am standing) to build Nick's bedroom we made this area for the TV (we just sit at the kitchen island to eat).

Cody really wants me to decorate for Christmas. I have a multitude of reasons that I don't want to (I'm tired, I'm busy, I'm tired), but you still have to do those things for the kids.

So I turned this mess....
into this....

...with a little holiday cheer!

That's all I am going to do for now. Mr. White says that as soon as I finish painting the walls and floor downstairs we'll move the TV etc down there and set up the Christmas tree so I'm going to wait and decorate then. Of course, we are talking about 1200 sq feet of wall....twice. Some of it has one coat, some two coats and some not done so it works out to about 1200 sq feet to go. Then there is the floor. That is 729 sq feet and it has to have three coats so that's about 2200 sq feet. Put together that is 3400 sq feet of painting to do before I can decorate. Maybe I should go ahead and decorate the upstairs! Christmas may be over before I am done (especially with the Snot Fest going on in my head and the wrestling tournament this weekend). Wanna help me paint? :)

Sometimes the littest touches catch the biggest attention.
Remodeling. It's for the birds. Dh is getting antsy to do the same thing. We have a very small house and is planning on turning the 1st garage into a livingroom, entryway & storage.
I can't wait for it to be done with.

Hey, it doesn't take a lot to make it look like Christmas. And if he wants more, let Cody put up a few decorations. And you know what I think about remodeling. I could loan you Bob the Builder if you want!!

Great job on the living room! It's nice to see others' Christmas decorations. We don't have ours up yet.

speaking of living rooms, i took your advice and changed the sofas and tv. it looks great and i love it. i couldn't part with the coffee table though, that was our first purchase together. i would post pics but i won't have a camera until Christmas. oh and for decorations i don't decorate inside except for stockings and the tree.

Awesome job *thunderous applause*. Also enjoyed the post about the construction in the garage. But I have to admit, I'd be morose and in despair over pitch darkness at 8:00 am. I guess it's lucky I live HERE. Where, you will be satisfied to learn, it is currently only 43 degrees, and dropping!

Wow, great progress, Gayle! The electricians are STILL holding us up. The GC still swears it will be all done by the week before Christmas, though. We shall see.

Looks great! I love the snowmen -- I have the ones with the green scarves at my house too!

good luck with the painting! Try having a painting party. We did that at our old house and had the whole thing painted in one day. It turned into something fun rather than a dreaded task!
