After dropping off the Wee People I grabbed Nick from school where he had been lifting weights and off we went. Quick stop in North Pole at McDonald's to get him dinner, and then to the base. Here is a shot of the runway (while driving).
Look back up at the mountains the guys in this tower get to look at all day long. Just beautiful.

Beautiful but brrrrr, that looks cold!
That brings back so many memories.......I lived on Eielson as a kid for many years (most of Elementary) and we had summer parties in that hanger every year.
