Gotta Love the 80's!

(July 3rd) Risse's (a local greenhouse...about 17 of them!) had a sale. A Back-To-1986-Prices Sale. I couldn't resist. This photo doesn't suggest the work ahead....

...I bought 15 Dahlia's...they were $1.50 apiece!! (I went back the next day and bought another 15 plus as many plants as above!).
This is a six-pack...and there were eight...that's 48 plants!
And another 60 plants here...
...and another 60 here!
Well, you get the idea...I spent the 3rd planting all these. Went and got more and spent the 5th planting those! (Photos of the finished beds later...it's pouring rain now :(
Olivia and Lukie in the shade, eating Starbursts and watching Mom plant.
My one and only Lilac bloom with two busy bees.
Mmmmm.

looks like you guys had a blast! We might have to try out the Ester festivities next year! We always do North Pole because it is small and fun but this looked even better!

It is fun...and small. Very small. Small enough it is a big potluck dinner...people bring the most fantastic dishes, there's the pig and burgers and a great time. We began a "tradition" last year of being the last to leave the park. This year we left at 9:30pm!

Gayle-

And to think that Drake and I are getting ready to tackle or big gardening project of a small (6"x24") herb garden...

Different perspective, huh??
